Meet Curator

Mr. Ven Sophorn – Curator, Angkor National Museum

Our curator has wealth of experiences and outstanding knowledge to share to visitors in the fields of Archaeology and Ancient Arts. He has gained creditable works from his professional career path over years in the world heritage site of Angkor as an archaeologist and social researcher for APSARA Authority. His educational background is Bachelor Degree in Archaeology in the year 2000 from the Royal University of Fine Arts, Phnom Penh, Cambodia and postgraduate degree in Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology at Visva- Bharati, Santiniketan, West-Bengal, India. Besides, in 2005, he received an award of Dr. A.P. Khatri Award, Center for Research and Training in History, Archaeology and Palaeo-environment, joint with the Indraprastha Museum of Arts and Archaeology and the Indian Archaeological Society, New Delhi. Other achievements could also be seen from his several lectures for the local and international academic students.
